    Connection Speed Detecting FLV Player

    Hey everyone,

Glad I found this site. This is my first post. My question is:

Is there any way to build or find a FLV player that detects a viewers internet connection speed and then adjusts the bit rate of a video accordingly?

It seems that this is what the Slingbox and Hulu Players do.

When I watch on a fast connection the video quality is amazing. Better then anything I see online. When the connection gets congested and bogged down, the players actually degrade the video quality so they still stream smoothly without any bumping or rebuffering...

I'd LOVE to find a way to use a player like this for my video company.

Thanks to anyone who has any ideas.

I think it would technically be called a "Dynamic Bitrate Player"...if that helps...
