    papervison, video material, pause?

    Hi,
    I have a cube built in papervision.
    It has a video on each side.
    I want the videos to be stopped at the beginning when it appears.
    I thought I could just use pause on the stream. ncStream2.pause(); no luck.
    When I do that I just get a black box. There is no black at the beginning of the videos.
    I do not think the papervision part is really a big deal. It's probably just a straight forward AS3 and video problem.

    heres my code for one video
    PHP Code:

    //Set up a video to handle the FLV

    var videoFile2:Video = new Video();
                var
    nc2:NetConnection = new NetConnection();

    nc2.connect(null);

    //Set up a video to handle the netStream connection

    var ncStream2:NetStream = new NetStream(nc2);

    ncStream2.play("frampton1_T0-8_Max1-2_Mono_22KHZ_16kbps.f4v");

    ncStream2.client customClient2;

    videoFile2.attachNetStream(ncStream2);

    //Instantiate the VideoStreamMaterial
                //VideoStreamMaterial = (video object, netStream connection, precise)

    video2 = new VideoStreamMaterial(videoFile2ncStream2true);
    thanks in advance
    mark

    You may have to add a play() method first before pausing.

    HI,
    thanks for the reply.
    I was adding the pause after a play.
    I tried after the last line in my posted code.
    I also tried after all materials had been applied to the cube and the cube added to the stage.
    Same result, black.

    How about adding slides instead, which when pressed disappear and the movies play.
    The way I have solved it for an application is either change to the the Playback component or use the Playback component as thumbs, which does not apply to your case, because you don't have thumbs.
