[wip] Mode7 Pacman
No surprises here, start of a pacman variation using mode7 (I love mode7 at the minute!)
Not much going on yet, its just the ground, the pills and I'm stoked to have working finally '3d' sprites.... use the cursor keys to move around (free roam is all at the minute)
The cool looking ghost id done by no other then Blink0k whose arm got twisted into a bit of nostalgic game rendering

Ill post updates as I make them.

yeah!
would be nice to have walls up (if thats possible) so you can't see anywhere else other than the corridor you're in.

Completely sensational! I love it, and can't wait to give it a run through.
It's like a Ronaldo back-heel goal!

I like the walls as invisible, as in the final game I will remove the minimap (or maybe have it as a powerup) and then the pac needs to scan around to see what pills remain.
I'm also planning on having the ability to jump... its a no rush project will tick it over as I go, for a bit of fun

Nice! I suggest 90 deg. quick turn on left or right key press and auto movement for pac man.

yeah the movement has yet to be implemented but at any rate the movement will be constrained to the paths, maybe movement with the cursor keys and view with the mouse.
One of the things I'm excited to make is a 'ghost cam' that replays the seconds before the ghost munches you

Looks good, but may I suggest relative movement? Games like this are always better that way in my opinion.
The 'Boose':
ASUS Sabertooth P67 TUF

What do you mean by relative movement?
EDIT: That ghost is totally awesome - missed him the first time through.

It's not 1997 ?!
Wow. Just wow.
Mode 7 rules, there needs to be more of them...
Great job, looks killer thus far!
Man, I need a new signature.

Relative movement means the controls change character direction based on that characters position. If the character is facing right, pressing RIGHT is going to make him head down. For a Mode-7 style game, relative movement would add to the realism in my opinion. However, it looks as though it won't be necessary from the demo.

Love the Tron like feel of the pacman board. Make sure you keep putting up newer versions!

Not much of an update but I wanted to show off the scared ghosts that blink has made... there are now 4 random ghosts moving about the stage with no purpose just cruising around strutting their stuff.
They have one of two states and bob up and down faster the the mean normal ghosts.
Now just got to add a pacman, some tricky control systems and collision detection, some pathfinding some ai and voila... a game
