I'm working on a UI that needs to be really graphically rich (ie. a lot of bitmap data flying around) but I'd like to have it load lightning fast. The only thing I've come up with is to load all my UI graphics with loaders and then jam them into sharedObjects so I can pull those instantly on subsequent visits. Is there any other slick way of caching this kind of stuff?

I'm most concerned about the 100k size limit on local storage...I know you can manually go in and set that higher but I don't want my users to be attacked by that little popup whenever they show up until they change it...is there a way of detecting the amount of space my domain is allowed?

Lastly, is it even worth discussing the possibility of storing flv content locally?
