simple "store" with flash and PHP?

Would it be wise to make a simple online store using flash and PHP?

for example, click on an items' "order now" button and have it send a variable to a php file? a friend of mine mentioned something about arranging a paypal account to read from this php file and therefore knowing what a person ordered or something along those lines...

or am i insane?

You have been able to do that for some time now. A quick google can throw up a ton of examples.
