    Trouble loading movies

    Hi:

    I have several banners made in flash. Each banner have a button, when you press it you go to a specific page.

    The banners appear randomly.

    I use a flash movie (RANDOM.SWF) to pick a banner and then display it.

    This movie (RANDOM.SWF) only has a frame and this action:

    stop();
    // stop the movie

    anuncios = 38;
    // this is the total number of banners available

    url = "http://www.bellezaculichi.com/banners/";
    // absolut - exact url of the banners

    anuncio_elegido = Math.ceil(Math.random()*anuncios);
    // pick a number or banner from 1-38 available banners

    movie = url + anuncio_elegido + ".swf";
    // create a string with the complete url of the banner / movie to load
    // the result is for example: http://www.bellezaculichi.com/banners/15.swf

    loadMovieNum(movie, 0);
    // load the banner movie and unload RANDOM.SWF

    I use this method because I use this banners in a server without any server side script support. Neither php or asp is allowed.

    This banner system have worked fine.

    But I have noticed a very strange behavior.

    1.

    When I use the complete url to see the page, the banners work fine.

    For example, if I use:

    http://www.bellezaculichi.com/test.htm
    (you can visit this page and see and test how the banners works fine)

    the banner appears and the button in the banner work perfectly.

    2.

    But when i use an incomplete url to see the page, the banners DOES NOT WORK.

    For example, if I use:

    http://bellezaculichi.com/test.htm
    (without the www)
    (you can visit this page to see and test how it DOES NOT WORK)

    the banner appears BUT the button in the banner DOES NOT WORK.

    What is happening?

    I am testing it in:

    Windows xp service pack 2
    internet explorer 7.0.5730.13
    flash player 9,0,124,0

    I think this behavior is consequence of security concers and the measures taken by flash player or internet explorer.

    I have tested this system in older versions of internet explorer and flash player without problem.

    One solution IS to use RELATIVE URLS. For example:

    Instead of using:

    url = "http://www.bellezaculichi.com/banners/";
    // exact url of the banners

    I would use:

    url = "./banners/";
    // relative url of the banner

    In fact I use this solution in the site:
    http://www.bellezaculichi.com/

    But I use the banners and the banners system in other servers, not only at: http://www.bellezaculichi.com/

    So in this other servers I MUST use the ABSOLUTE / EXACT url of the banner.

    Further more, if I use the ABSOLUTE / EXACT url of the banner i have not to worry about the location of the page displaying the banner, if the page displaying the banner is in the root directory or inside another directory.

    Thank You for your attention.

    íTrouble solved!

    If somebody else has this trouble, this is the solution:

    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=50c1cf38

    Adding:

    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always">

    And

    allowScriptAccess="always"

    solves this trouble.

    Example:

    <object

    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"

    codebase=" http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" width="550" height="400" align="middle">

    <param name="movie" value="http://otherdomain.com/exampleContent.swf">

    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always">

    <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash"

    pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"

    width="550" height="400" align="middle"

    src="http://otherdomain.com/exampleContent.swf"

    allowScriptAccess="always"></embed>

    </object>
