    I'm in NYC

I love being here, even if Nordboy thinks everything smells.

I'm on the Upper West Side, at 79th and Amsterdam. Anyone know of any cool shops I gotta hit around here? (skate, music, comic, clothes, culture, whatever).

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

Dude, you wait until I stop working there to go?

Take the kids to the Museum of Natural History, and the Bronx Zoo. You can check out Central Park around 72nd St. to see The Dakota and Strawberry Fields too. All the cool stuff you'd be into is down in the village. Had I known you were there, I'd have met you for a beer.

Come to Joisey if you want to take some good skyline shots. E-mail me if you're going to be in town for awhile.)

Thanks yo. Did the museum today, but spent almost all the time checking out dinosaurs. Did times square this evening.

Yeah, I know all the good stores/shopping is farther south...that's why I was asking. Finding a cool store up here is tough, so I thought someone might know of one hiding somewhere. Jen and I wander endlessly around the village when we are here by ourselves, but we don't do that to the kids.

Hey, about Jersey. My sister in law is moving there (can't remember city, but it's pretty far north), so we'll certainly be in the area at some point. I will definitely let you know, and call you on that beer!

"Far North" is a relative term, but definitely let me know.

Top of the Rock is the new Empire State Building observatory. I believe you can get a joint Rock/MoMA ticket too. MoMA will rock your socks off and Top of The Rock will get you the best 360 degree view of Manhattan anywhere.

If their sugar high hasn't hit critical mass after that, you can venture around the corner to Serendipity for a frozen hot chocolate...another NYC must for the kiddies.

I went to NYC a month ago. I can attest to the awesomeness of Top of The Rock. Even though I have an elevator phobia and you go up ridiculously high in one, very fast.

The second time I went to the top of the Empire State Building the little screen in the elevator got a BSOD.

Enjoy your time there! I loved NYC! We went to amateur night at Apollo Theatre in Harlem! That was really cool, even though it might get a bit loud for small children.

Go down into the Meatpacking District...lots of shops and good places to go—then walk over to the west side highway...and walk along the path—look up and see the almost complete "highline park" . . . . because next time you visit new york it'll be completely changed.

Thanks for all the suggestions yo's. We almost made it to the candy bar, but got caught in a bad t-storm near FAO Swartz and headed underground. Nordboy 2.0 freakin' loved every train ride, and Nordboy was all about being fascinated by all the languages. clothes, colors, smells, and basically anything under the cultural umbrella. It's amazing to watch their open minds turn onto that kind of stuff. But if you ask him, he'd probably say his favorite part something shallow like getting the Naboo Galactic Heroes set at the Times Square Toys 'R Us.

This we actually did, and it was dug by all, no doubt. The views of the park are great, and those free standing glass monolith/walls are bad ass. Not to mention the remote-controlled non-stop glass ceiling rave elevator...dayum!

I want to use all the photos to play with animoto for the first time.

yeah, top of the rock is pretty awesome, isn't it?

i know it's too late now, but the bronx zoo is also pretty cool (especially with kids i would imagine). my sister's apartment is dead opposite the zoo (she has a view of some weird deer type animals from her living room), and she bought an annual pass just so she can cut through the zoo on her way home from work- very cool
