Wow I haven't used clipart since 8th grade "desktop publishing" class.
Now I am curious as well.

Oh... this is leading somewhere. Trust.

...domo...
I only use clip art when it is requested by the client (cause the design has to be a word template or such like that).

Ok. I can't link to the site since it's on a dev server that's being currently tracked like mad right now... but as it stands, here's the story of the day...
I'm usually reluctant while onsite to offer too many design advice or critiques because I'm usually the "hired gun" and I have to avoid making some people nervous that I might attempt to take their job. Enter my current situation.
There's an upcoming site... for a high profile client. And I saw three of the four versions that were being pitched. One of them looked like an WordPerfect 2.0 document template.
It had a shaky outline, it was traced badly... and above all it made me think of websites I had seen being made way back in 1995-96. It had five colors, red text, purple highlights, and areas of grey. It seriously looked worse than the London Olympic logo. And this person defended their usage of clip art... "Real graphic designers and artists use clipart... too bad you've not grasped that."
This is the same person that has also told me that Photoshop was a beginner's tool.
That Flash was not really relevant to the web.
That you can make 3D letters in MS Word - which I personally have not seen attempted since Office '97.
That bmp's are a web format since it shows up in IE just fine and Firefox will not last.
And above all, once I relinquish my neophyte design tendencies, I'll make a good designer one day too.
And after today... I decided to look around... and I found his strawberries... right here:

i never threaten violence on a person, but for each of those false statements above, i would knocked an equal amount of teeth out of their mouth.

I want to ask how exactly you present your opinions that make people reply so snidely. I would have been furious for a second then laughed in their face.
confession:
Way back when I did t-shirts there was very little money in it. Few shirts had a design budget so a lot of clip art from this pack was used. Granted this is back when it was called 5,000. It actually had some decent pieces but I only ever use parts or modified them. I wasn't gonna waste time on a volley ball when a decent one was right there.

"I'm not so sure that the strawberries should be rendered as such. Looks like clip-art and not up to par with the other work that I've seen from this group."

Haha, oh yes, I recognize that one.
As a matter of fact here it is on the shelf next to my Windows 98 Resource Kit.
Oh, and Gerbs, sorry about the attitude... you just have no idea how many cds of strawberries I had to go thru before finding the perfect ones to compliment my red and purple text.
Just to show there's no hard feelings, I'll let you borrow my clipart collection the next time you want to really punch-up a big design project.

You fellas have something against clip art eh? I think they're quite useful at times. I have customers who actually request for those '97 clip arts, just because they grew up and are comfortable with them.
Just because..
..But in gerb's scenario, I have the exact sentinents as Lefteye.

^ That's like requesting your food be cooked in old pans because you grew up with that hint of lead.
