It's the same sh*t! [consumer reports thread]

The price gouging is afoot and basically anyone can double their prices now and cry oil.

Figured I'd start a thread where we could trade good buy suggestions.

I bought these trash bags on a budget one night and they've proved to be better than the name brand. I think American Fare is a K-mart brand so you'll probably only find them there.

I don't use grocery bags - tons of hemp ones laying around the house/car. I buy 13 gallon compostable garbage bags.

I get all kinds of stuff on the Target brand - usually it even says on the packaging something like: 'compare to [insert name brand here]'

It's always at least 20-30% less than the name brand.

Be sure to read the information on he packaging. I saw a CNN segment the other day where they were warning consumers to check the weight of the product (such as paper towels, etc).

Don't even get started with the sheer amount of re-branded stuff that goes on in the electronics world.

We got a case of Ziplock bags at Costco the other day because they were on sale and they are so chinsy. The Great Value bags from Wal-Mart are much more durable. It didn't used to be that way.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

Whispers my suggestion already solves your problem. (c :

Jaquan, lol cheap laughs . . cheap products . . as long as it's cheap, it belongs in here. Good idea for a thread though. With the budget like it is, I love saving money where I can.

For cat litter, my neighbour supplies me with the soil, from his potted plants.

I hope he still hasn't found out about it.
