It looks very nice. I just got a dv9700 which has an AMD Processor and a 17" screen but most of the other specs are the same. It's a fantastic computer.

Well what accounts for most of the cost are the processor and graphics card. Both of which are important to me.

Nice machine...I bought an HP laptop about 4 years ago for a few hundred more than that. You'd laugh if you saw the specs. Thing ran like a tank though - still works too.

Genuine Windows Vista? Really pushing the boat out there.

Surely though you'd want the 64-bit version for your 64-bit processor?

My compaq laptop is holding up quite well. And that is even with my daughter throwing things at it and dumping milk on the keyboard.

I installed Vista Ultimate on my laptop a month ago when I got it and have yet to reboot the machine. It runs very well and is very stable. The sleep and wake feature works much better than XP as well.

I'm going to tinker with it at first, given that I haven't had too much experience using Vista, but most likely I'll wipe it and put XP back on. Or maybe dual boot, who knows.
