Spiderwick Chronicles - Thumbs up.

Just got finished watching it with the wife tonight, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
I didn't remember seeing any memorable commercials for it and don't remember it being in the theatres, but she mentioned she really wanted to see it so I made sure to grab it when it came out today.

I must say that I enjoyed it more than the last couple of fantasy movies I've seen, especially the Golden Compass which was a huge disappointment.

It had a nice blend of character development, story-telling, and tension level to keep it from getting boring at any point.
Quick enough lead-in to the main story and action, no obvious continuity or logic flaws, and a fairly satisfying ending without being too short or too long.
Some scenes might be a little too intense/scary for the really young, <5-6, but overall a good family flick even for the adults.

I liked how the various sub-plots work itself seamlessly along the movie, which kind of sub-consciously lending themselves to the main plot towards the end (Hope I'm not revealing too much here in case wannabe reads this thread...).

Yeah, I thought the director could lessen the intense moments (its a child's movie rite?) but it should be a good family show nevertheless. Totally agree on that never boring part. Reminds me of Zathura (Kid show, good for adults)!

Okay! Okay! These dudes, went into this house, and this little guy, who hated his mum, found this little book that opened his vision to this world where soon Goblins tried to kill that little boy, who later met his aunt who led the boy to his grandfather who told him that he can't destroy the book, which is the target of the desperate Goblin King, who finally was killed after turning into a bird, and in the end that little guy loved his mother again.
