    resolved [RESOLVED] ubuntu wine?

I've been running ubuntu for a while now and it's been doing what i need until now. I've installed Wine to emulate some windows programs, but i can't even get it to recognize an EXE. I've read through some of the documentation, but nothing seems to be working.

Anyone use wine? Have any issues?

How's that working out for you? What release are you running?

I'm running 8.04. Seems pretty stable so far,i had to reformat really early on as i was trying to solve an audio driver issue, but since then i haven't really had any issues.

I'm not taking full advantage of the system though, i've barely touched any of the admin programs to customize anything.

I got photoshop installed and seems to run OK. I tried illustrator, got it installed, but it quits soon after i start working. I think it's a bug that i'd have to check into.

The one thing i LOVE about it, is the add/remove programs dialog. If there's ANYthing i want, i don't have to go out and search download.com or go from mirror to mirror to mirror, it's all right there in one box. And there's plenty of software for anything you're interested in.

I'd recommend it if you ever have to format a computer but don't have a backup disk

Yeah once 8.10 is out and official I was thinking of doing a dual boot to play with it.
