scroller issue

I have a scroller with a scrollbar on my main stage which contains my thumbnails for the gallery.

I used the exact same scroller in a new fla to scroll a tutorial with text amd images that is loaded by clicking on one of the thumbnails.

The thumbnail will load this tutorial_swf into a container MC I have on stage.
When I unload this from the MC my gallery scrollbar no longer works.
Is there an easy way to fix this?

i tried adding

this._lockroot=true into the first frame of my external swf hoping that would help, but no luck.

...something with the drag functionality?

here is my scroll issue if someone cares to take a look.
Basically my gallery has thumbnails with a scroll bar to scroll and this works fine.
I have another external swf that loads into an MC that uses the same scrollbar.
That one loads and works fine, when I click to close and unload it my main scrollbar in my gallery no longer works....
