Thread: Allowing User to changed variable after loaded

  1. #1
    I am importing variables from a text file that I would like for a user to be able to change. I put the load action in the first frame:

    loadVariablesNum ("test.txt", 0);

    then the script that calculates those variables in the second frame:

    tellTarget ("c1") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t1);
    tellTarget ("c2") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t2);
    tellTarget ("c3") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t3);
    tellTarget ("c4") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t4);
    tellTarget ("c5") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t5);
    tellTarget ("c6") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t6);
    tellTarget ("c7") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t7);
    tellTarget ("c8") {
    gotoAndStop (/:t8);
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }
    }
    addedtogether = parseInt(/:t1)+parseInt(/:t2)+parseInt(/:t3)+parseInt(/:t4)+parseInt(/:t5)+parseInt(/:t6)+parseInt(/:t7)+parseInt(/:t8);
    answer = salary*percent/100/12;
    answer2 = salary*percent/100;

    When I put a stop action in frame 3 the calculations wont work. When I let it loop, when a user types in changes to the imported values the movie reloads the text file values. How can I import these values > Do the needed calculations > then allow the user to change them. To take a look at what it's doing goto http://webwalkerdesign.com/flash/user_graph.swf
    Thanks!

    Is this code all on frame 2? Why not in the first frame try loadVariables? Then on frame 3 loop it back to frame 2.

    Just a thought.
