    Camera shops in London?

So while I am here in London, I think I will buy some new equipment for my camera. Where should I go?
(Actually, after 4 weeks, I still haven't seen a real camera shop )

There's loads of camera shops down Tottenham Court Road - go to Tottenham Court Road tube station and walk up the road from there - there's more camera shops there than anywhere else in London - all the shops are really close to each other as well so you can compare prices and ask for the best deal - the guys in those shops can be a bit pushy because the competition is fierce but you'll get a decent deal.

Also - near that tube station, there is a Jessops - come out the tube station and head down New Oxford street.

Jessops will generally have the best price but you can go into the other shops along Tottenham Court Road and say "I can get this from Jessops for £xx - what can you do it for?".

Also try the London Camera Exchange:

They have some really decent 2nd hand stuff there which is guarunteed - I bought a lens from there recently and saved myself £50.

I've always found tottenham crt rd to be expensive, but there's certainly lots of shops around there.

There are quite a few small, but decent, camera shops near the British museum:

    Apeture, ********** etc.

[edit]apparently I'm not allowed to say the name of the second shop :S

I bought my lens from Jessops. IDK if you're familiar with crappy mall photo shops but Jessops felt just like a Ritz camera to me but they did have the best price I could find. All the used camera shops make me drool with an overstock of Leica's and other medium format cameras...

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll go down to Tottenham Court Road and check out the stores one day.

It would have been great with a B&H here yes!
