    XML Flash MP3 Player

Hi, i am new to XML and am trying to create a flash mp3 player using a XML file. I have created this fine using AS3 but i want another user to be able to download my mp3 player and use it with their own songs. If I ask the user to place all their music files in a certain file, is there any way that an XML file can be created dynamically so that the user's songs will work with my mp3 player? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Tom

I've used SWF Studio in the past to create an exe that a user can download (with the player) which reads the files in a folder and creates an xml file, but it can't be done using only flash...

    Hope that helps!

Ok thanks for your help. Do you know if there is a way to do this if you create the XML file externally, eg in notepad?

They could certainly use notepad to update the xml file and change the filenames, but, if you want flash to actually write a file out (locally) you'll need 3rd party software like Zinc or SWF Studio. If you want to write a file out online, you'll need to use php or asp...
