Hand cursor
Anyone know how to make the mouse turn into a hand not just over buttons but for an entire movie clip?

The only way I know of (and that no way suggests it is the one and only way) is when the MC already is placed on the stage as an instance.
In the properties box, with the MC selected, change the behavior from ‘movie clip’ to ‘button’.
If you are dynamically loading the MC on render, I too would be interested in how this is accomplished.
