    External CSS + HTML inside movieclip (Flash 8)

    Hi all,

    I have a Flash 8 movie that (on the root level) with a dynamic-HTML-multiline text box that loads its data from a TXT file and gets its styles from a CSS file.
    This works fine.

    However, when I try to put the text box and actions within a movieclip, the text box no longer loads any data.

    I have put together a ZIP file containing:
    * The TXT file
    * The CSS file
    * The FLA that works
    * The FLA with the text box inside a movieclip

    Click here to download the ZIP file.

    This is no doubt something simple, but being a noob I've tried so many combinations of paths _root, _level, etc etc I'm lost!

    Any help with this would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Chris

    A few things. First, since you're putting the code within the movie clip, you can use the exact same code as the other file.

    The second issue is that you're embedding the font, but defining a font in your CSS. That seems to be confusing Flash, so just take font-family line out.

    Finally, if you're going to embed the font and want some text bold, you have to embed the bold characters too. The easiest way to do this is to type two characters into the textfield "ab" for instance, and make one of them bold.

    Do those three things and it should work!
