    Champions League

    Champions League action tonite -

    Real Madrid vs. Liverpool

    Chelsea vs. Juventus

    My predictions -

Real Madrid is going to destroy Liverpool without Gerrard.

    Chelsea should beat Juve.

Hmm. I disagree on the real madrid part. The reason Liverpool have been drawing of late is because teams they face generally play in ultra defensive mode. With Real Madrid playing host, I reckon there's lots more space for Torres/Kuty/Benayoun and Riera to run around. Plus with Alonso back in midfield, I'll be expecting a good game tonight.

My fingers are crossed for Rafa to emply Babel behind Torres, but knowing his continental style, he'll probably opt for a traditional 4-5-1, with Lucas, Masch and Alonso in the middle. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I didn't watch the other games, but how could I have missed Liverpool's victory against Real Madrid? I thought Alonso+Kuyt was superb -- thank god he didn't move to Arsenal or somewhere else back then -- and finally they're stepping up to another level.

As for Madrid, I thought Heinze and Ramos didn't look too interested in the game? A little... slack?

The Reds held on from the offensive Real raids to win this one. The resilience of the Reds should be appreciated and as always it paid off in the end. For all the possesion Real enjoyed it all came to noughts.

I didn't know Yossi could head a ball, but I'm glad he did. And Alonso came very close with a shot from his own half. A great result for the Reds.

Robben played very well for Real Madrid. He will be a big threat for The Reds in the return leg.

Fernando Torres described himself as the "happiest player in the world" after scoring for Liverpool FC and helping them to a 4-0 win over his nemesis team, Real Madrid CF, to send the Reds through to the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.
4-0 demolition of Real Madrid by the Reds !
    Chelsea also go through...

    Todays games -

    Arsenal vs. Roma

    Man. U vs. Inter Milan

    Barca vs. Lyon

The Reds were hammered 3-1 at Anfield by the Blues while Barca blanked out Bayern 4-0.

Chelsea over Liverpool in a high scoring 2nd leg. Great viewing ...Liverpool 2 - 0 at half time, 6 goals in the second half, 4-4 but Chelsea had a goal up their sleeve from the first leg.

So the Blues will meet in form Barca in the semis.

    Today's fixtures -
    Arsenal vs Villareal (1-1)

I think Porto is going to dump Manholes out of the CL...
