March Madness IronMan Event

This year March Madness will be a little Different. This time instead of a single elimination tournament we will be doing a 7 IronMan Event. Each Event will be different where users will be asked to judge based on the requirements of the event as well on The quality of the images.

The following is a list of names that have expressed interest:

If anyone else wants to join in you have till the end of the first round, after which no more people will be allowed to join.

Scoring will be based on the number of votes each image gets. The top 10 images will receive a point value based on rank. 1st gets 10, 2nd gets 9, 3rd gets 8 etc. If their is a tie each image will receive the amount of points for the level of image. so if two people tie for 5th, each will receive 6 points, the next highest image will be considered 7th place in this situation. If you fail to enter an image you will get zero points. The winner will be the player with the most total points at the end of all 7 events. If there is a Tie a sudden death 8th event will be chosen.

Voters will be asked to vote for their 3 favorite images in each round. Please vote based on The requirements of the event, followed by the Quality of the image.

1- touching up a photo (everyone receives the same old damaged photo)
2- Surrealism (2-3 stocks then make it surreal)
3- freestyle (a pool of stocks that must be used go ****ing crazy)
4- typography(Typeface must be featured heavily, judging of the image based on how it fits in with the image)
5- Paint by numbers(everyone receives the same stock 2 tone image which then is colored in by each participant)
6- Magazine Cover/Movie Poster sounds like it could work
7- Fables and Fairy Tales: Tell a classic story in your image

The goal is To color in this B&W image. Creativity and imagination are encouraged.

Canvas size will be set at 640X480
The deadline will be Thursday at 11:59pm est.

As far as judging on this first one, is it completely subjective? Are there any guidelines?

Do we focus on keeping it realistic?
Are we limited to ONLY adjusting the coloring (i.e. no introducing other "elements" via painting something in)?

the main requirement is that its Colored in. If you want to add to it go for it. Realistic isnt required, be creative. I chose this stock because it has alot of detail work on the bottom and then a Ton of free space to go crazy on top.

anyone that submits a first round image will be considered a particpant, after the 1st round nobody else will be added.

Images are to be sent to me(via pm) by thursday 11:59pm est. Voting will start Friday and end sunday. The next round will be announced during the voting period, as this is not an elimination tournament and all participants move on each week.

Forgive me for having to ask but I want to make sure I understand what is going on. For Event 1, we are taking the b&w stock image you linked to and then based on that image, "1- touching up a photo (everyone receives the same old damaged photo)" ? I understand that we are coloring the image in, but it doesn't really seem like an "old damaged" photo. So are we doing our best to touch it up and then color it in or is does that just mean the same thing? Thanks.

this is just the color one. the touch up of the photo will be another week. the events on top are not in order.
