    Projector file and swf confusion

    I have two Flash projects, let's call them A & B.

I created a Projector file for project B - works fine - both Mac and Windows.

My problem is that when I now try to open the SWF for project A, the projector file for project B opens instead!

Why is this happening? They're not even in the same folder - though they were at one point.

I'm using Flash CS3 for Mac, Action Script 2.0

If the applications have/had the same name and there's a copy sitting in the Trash folder, sometimes the Mac will launch the one from the Trash instead of the one you click on. I'm not making this up. Empty your Trash and try again, then upgrade to Windows

    Problem Solved (sort of)

    Thanks for your suggestion, Northcode.

What I discovered was that as Project B (the projector file) had in effect become an application rather than just a file, it had become the default application for all swf files. Using Get Info I was able to set the default application for SWFs back to Flash Player.

This problem didn't occur on my Windows XP laptop, though ...

It's possible to make that happen on Windows, but the prompts that Windows puts in your path make it pretty obvious that that's what's about to happen.
