    Signs of the times...

I just realized it's been forever since I've seen a commercial for the old collect-call services like 1-800-COLLECT or 10-10-220. Now it's just commercials for cell phone plans. It's amazing to think not too long ago, you'd have better luck finding a payphone than someone with a cellphone.

    Anyone else notice anything lately?

The Arena used to abound with battles and images, but is now only a shadow of it's previous self.

omg I remember all those 102020 things and all those services. How did those even work? Like how did those companies even make money?

Only in the US, the British ones are still the original size. I'll send you one and you can compare.

I've given up on bottled soda. I went for the thermos.
    $1.50 for 20 oz, $1.90 for 3 2oz, .80 for 64 oz refill

I just wish the local stores would carry IBC rootbeer fountan drinks.

    And showing my age.
I can remember when a 16 bottle of pop costs 25 cents, a candy bar cost 10 cents (same prices as a local call from a payphone) cigarrettes were 45 cents a pack.

sounds like everyone in this thread has just (re-)realised they are getting older.

I can remember (sometimes) the good old days.

I remember calling people's houses and asking to speak with them, rather than just directly calling their cell phone...

I remember that I got a mix of ether and chloroform to breathe as a kid when my appendix was removed. I puked the whole day after that
