    Unhappy Ruined Portfolio??!!!

What should a designer do when he makes nice flash design for a company only to have it revised and the design ruined by a non experienced person who is changing it!

I did this high end flash design for my last employer. They let me go do to budget cuts. This non-designer is changing it and really ruining the interface! Potential clients are going to look at this flash website and see that it is not right. Any suggestions? This is very frustrating!

I suppose I can upload the original to my server...

Do NOT link to a live site in your portfolio!

You have no control or clue to what may end up there.
What if a client goes out of business and the domain gets bought and used for something really offensive?

You already answered your own question.
When you finish a site, upload a copy of it (or just some screenshots) to your own server.

I agree. Just put a mirror up on your own server.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

So I will put a screen shot that goes to a Mirror website to my server. Of course, the client can complain and say I do not have the rights to upload it to my server. But I will cross that bridge when I get there.

    Thanks guys.

Haha, if that's true then somebody should really inform Google and Archive.org
Both of which keep archived/cached versions on their servers, downloadable by anyone, of any and all websites on the internet.

Seriously, if you are worried about confrontation with the client then spell it out in your contract first.

Why would he complain about extra exposure?

Look what they've done to my song

keep a backup for your resume.
    Link to your version.

Screenplays rarely match the original novel.
"hit' songs by 'name' artists rarely reflect the original composition.
"Cover" songs are supposed to be interpertaions of a piece not an exact replica.
