At school I used to work at the library and handled peoples questions that were having trouble with the network. I couldn't even tell you how many people came in with hps saying that they just got it back from the manufacturer, or they had to buy a new one because their old one stopped working. I've seen too many people complain about hp to really trust them myself...so I'd go with dell. They're pretty solid computers.

Dell is putting a lot of their company's focus into those netbooks...I would go with them.

Ever since the aquisition of HP by Compaq the desktops have gone to hell in a handbasket. although the laptops have stood up pretty well.

If your looking for a netbook get an asus. If your looking for more then a netbook but less then then the common 17" wide screen laptops get an acer extensa. I'm loving mine it has all the power I need in a 14inch wide lightwieght laptop.

I've been using a Samsung NC10 for 6 months now and think it's great. Biggish keyboard and pretty solid build quality.

    Runs osx smoothly.
