mouse trails

How do I get a proper mouse trail. There is a tutorial in flash kit but, this is a flash 4 tutorial. I am on flash 5 and lost. I know it's all in the action script. In the flash 4 tutorial, they say after making the mouse to put 3 frames all with actions. I understand the action on the first and last frames. Need help understanding actions in the second frames.
