ways to promote a website

hi There,

i've been thinking... what are other ways of promoting your website other than SEO? (non-spamming, of coz)

some i could think of:

- tell as many of ur friends/family as possible
- on business card
- put site uRL on facebook/msn...etc
- create a blog and brag about it
- forum avatar link

How about:
1) in your signature on all your forum posts?
2) on ALL your printed material...ESPECIALLY any press releases
3) if your customers will allow it, on any materials you develop
4) in ANY comments you post on other blogs...especially industry related blogs...
5) create an account on every social media network...MySpace, LinkdIn, Facebook, etc.

- create tshirt with sitename and wear it around
- as sticker on cars

- give away freebies
- join a traffic-generation-programme
- get blogzines to write a review on your website
- give help to others, and in return ask them for a visit to your website
