    me or my host problem?

My site is up but when I try using cuteftp connected to my site, login successful, 'directory listing completed'..etc. Then it just stuck there... does not show my www root directory, tried setting connections with different server type and still no luck.

couldnt contact "support" for 2 weeks now. I will change the host after this but for now...any suggestion?

Have you tried to use a different FTP client? Even use Firefox perhaps?

I had a problem where FTP would not work with Windows Firewall enabled..

Never solved the problem as my old PC finally gave up the ghost when the
mother board was distroyed after a PSU failure.

Not had that problem on any other PC..
If someone tells you it can't be done,
it's probally because they don't know how.

    Who is your host?

I think it was Gerbs that turned me onto Filezilla for FTP way back when.

    Absolutely love it.
Waaaay faster than any other free FTP clients I've tried.

^ same. I've had and tried several flp clients in the past. After the word from Gerbick to try filezilla I've loved it and never looked back.

For Windows, I'm a fan of CuteFTP. It's not free, but it's really nice.

I've grown to dislike it in the last few years.

Wow, I feel like an idiot. I can't believe you didn't call me out, Gerbs! Juju said in the original post that he was already using CuteFTP. :P

I figured you were just voicing your love for a program with the name Cute in it.

I mean... we all know you secretly harbor love for "Hello Kitty"...

Oh, I was supposed to keep that secret? Oops.

I was in the middle of testing my site and I only have lite version so I dont mind switching to filezilla (free!! yay!!) as long as it works. i will try at home, thanks for that.

btw hello kitty is cool - something so simple yet makes lots of money.
there are so many cute stuffs (from Japan) here in Hong Kong, i've seen that thing on gerbick's avatar as a wallet or something, too.

I despise you and all of that Hello Kitty merchandise. They desecrated my precious Domokun.

    So wrong.

I really liked WS_FTP until they started preventing installs and making me beg for another when I had paid for the software. Filezilla's been a great fallback. Of course now I use transmit.

I had a similar experience with WS_FTP as Jaquan.
SM3 has a build in ftp client. It's not as robust as dedicated ftp clients but come in very handy for fast swf export and upload.

Oh my god. That's just... wrong, wrong, wrong. I mean, I might have to actually put you on a 24 hour ban just to give you time to think about what you did wrong.

    Wow.
