have to keep restarting flash to test movie?

    hello,

    does anyone have this issue?

i can only test my game once. once i close it, the test won't start until i reopen the entire flash application.

    what's the deal!?

this may or may not help depending how you have built your game , and what your game is doing internally , but you can go to control > delete aso files and test movie , and that will get rid of some run time objects your game might be generating. Also sometimes the Flash IDE or other editors will hang on to old class files and packages , even though they appear as being latest versions. So when you compile , you will see your application behaving as though it had old code. Deleting the aso files will help eliminate this.

You might also try File>Save and Compact.

Are you getting the same behavior on other flas as well? If so your Flash app might need to be reinstalled.

    thanks for the responses.

deleting the aso files had no effect, neither did the save and compact.

i am not getting the same behavior on other .fla's, only this one. it's a fairly large file so i assume that is the root cause...

it's been getting worse as of late, in that i've had to restart my pc several times just to get it to test at all. i've been working on this project intensely for several months, so it's frustrating to say the least.

anyone have any ideas? i'd hate to keep working on it and then all of a sudden it stops working.
