    useHandCursor does not have effect until I move the mouse

    Hi guys,

    I'm having a problem with a button that should change the mouse pointer to an arrow when clicking it and, after while, turn it back to a hand cursor. I use the Button.useHandCursor method to acheive this. This works fine in the Flash IDE, but when testing in a browser, the mouse pointer won't change back to the hand unless i move the mouse. I've tried a LOT of stuff, including updateAfterEvent without any success.

    If anyone has a solution for this one, I'd really, REALLY like to know it!

    Thanks,

    Makac

    Thanks for replying. Can't really post the whole thing, my client would not approve of that. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

    Ok, that part of the code resides in a function that is delclared in frame 1 of the parent movieclip to the button in question: Here it is:

    function showReplaceButton(){
    replaceBtn._visible = true;
    replaceBtn.useHandCursor = true;
    }

    That's not what i meant ;-) of course useHandCursor is the method, the problem lies in how you trigger the off and on.

    When clicking the button a hideReplaceButton() method is called (I'm sure you can imagine the code inside it), which hides the button. showReplaceButton is triggered by a framescript. When receiving a certain response from a server, there is a gotoAndPlay command which causes a jump to the frame in question.

    I might add that it works when testing from the Flash 8 IDE, but not in the browser environment (tried both with Firefox and IE)
