    Controlling The Timeline of Dynamically Loaded External SWF

    I have a swf that gets XML of a location of another swf and loads it. It then casts the loader's content as a movie clip and adds it to the stage. I have that working fine, but how can I control the timeline of the loaded swf?

    Thanks in advance for your response.

    Since you have the SWF ready as a MovieClip, you can use any function or property the class has to offer.

    mySWFMovieClip.play();
    mySWFMovieClip.stop();
    mySWFMovieClip.gotoAndPlay(10);
    mySWFMovieClip.gotoAndStop(10);
    etc..

    did you create the loaded swf? I guess the question really is, are you sure it has a timeLine to control? As example, if you loaded most of my SWFs there isn't a frame beyond 1...

    Do you have a link to the swf your trying to control?
