Pumpkin Carving 2008
Flash Kit 48 Hour Game Challenge #9
Who's interested?
As followers of the Game Challenge may already be aware, I am setting up an automated event handler on my website to control the flow of this event. All times will be Eastern ( GMT - 5)! Registration will begin exactly one week from the start of the event, and I am planning on running the event from a Friday, 6PM EST to Sunday, 6PM EST. Then for one week(negotiable) judging will be held, concluding the event the following Sunday, 6PM EST.
Currently I've divided the judging into 5 categories: Overall Best Game, Best Graphics, Most Original Idea, Best Gameplay and Favorite Game. These are discussed in more detail on the events page. Is everyone happy with this, or should we change some of them? I'm perfectly happy with any suggestions to change you guys might have because I really want to create a format we can reuse in the future.
Note: The site is a work in progress. Please refrain from registering until the event begins!

I'm interested but the date doesn't really matter. There's also a good chance I won't have anything to deliver after the 48 hours.. but I'd like to give it a shot if I'm available.

Well, these four weekends happen to be right between semesters in college for me. I'm not participating in the event(that I know of...) but I'd still like to be here in case anything goes wrong with the site during.

How many people are interested. Seems to me that not as many people hang around these boards anymore, which sucks.

Which is really odd considering the popularity of the last challenge... Oh well if I don't get any interest I'll just remove the hosting. Only took me a few days to put it up anyhow.

Its a good job on the site non the less mate. Hopefully by the time the comp is going to run there might be a few people interested. You should set a goal of 8+ people interested and the comp goes ahead.

I'll be joining the comp for shure if I can. I selected april 30 as it is not too far away & there's enough time to enter. I think more people will come and it's just a matter of time. You already did the effort IP so we should use what you've done & not let this down.
This is MC. His _parents sent him to stop() by the super market to buy some _root beer if he wanted to gotoAndPlay() with his friends at the park later.

Don't worry. "If you build it they will come"
I prefer may 7th, the only weekend that would give me a problem is the 23rd. But since we don't have that much time left anyways, when does the keyword producing process start? I assume we need to suggest some to enter?

I'll officially be canceling this contest next Sunday, April 25th at 6:00PM EST. Please state here whether or not you are seriously interested so I can get a count of how many people wish to participate. At the moment I'm looking for at least (8) participants to actually run the contest. Thanks and good luck!
EDIT: TOdorus, yeah. During the initial registration phase we'll do some voting on a topic or two for the actual games.

What exactly are you 'canceling', and what would stop those 4 to have their fun without you? Did you put a prize on this contest or something? I just ask because I think I missed something.

Canceling? The hosting of the automated FK49HRGC9 -whew- on my website, of course. I never said they couldn't run their own event here, lol. I had already explained that there are 5 different categories so I'd like to see at least that many in the competition. There are 4 entered now which is not enough. If there's only 5, then -everyone wins- and that's no fun either (doesn't spur competitive edge!) and so I decided that 8 would be optimal for this event.

I'll definately be in at any of the last two dates, preferably the first one, along with my teammate Adarias (is it ok to work in a team ?).
I really hope more people will sign up to this coz these comps always look like great fun and it's the first time I'll have time to enjoy it well
