    Blu-Ray Disc recommendations??

So I'm thinking of stuffing my stocking with a BD disk or two, was thinking might get the Rock movie since it's my all time favorite, any other suggestions, something that is 1080p worthy

And then Ron Fricke who wrote/cinematographer Koyaanisqatsi also directed his own Baraka(read about a guy who got to see this at 8k res scanned from the original 70mm film....drools).

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103767/

I'll take all these in 1080p please.

I'd vote for this guy to be the newage film maker of this sort of film.(has 1080p footage you can dl to watch)

It's a great movie, AND it's visually stunning: Avatar. (No, not the last airbender one~)

The 3D glasses were heavy. There's a dent at the bridge of my nose at the end of the showing.

2D is awesome! It's brighter and just... brighter.

Avatar was an average movie with incredible 3D effects.
    a) Why watch it in 2D?
    b) Why watch it a second time?

That's a little overboard. I just want to see it projected in 2d with the full color- those 3d glasses have such crappy tint.

I need to rewatch it 2D this time, I got the XBOX game and I need to refresh my memory and storyline

Got me The Rock on Blu-Ray, worth every penny just for the movie, haven't even touched the extras yet

Nice film choice, I reckon as it is an old film and was not originally filmed for blu-ray then the picture will not be as good as you think.

Toy Story 3 is an amazing picture on blu-ray. Anything that is animated is usually brilliant.

Well the rock was probably shot on film so they probably rescanned it in a higher res for the blu ray.
