annoying gap between video and controls in cs4

    Hi

We are using the video component and picking a skin "SkinUnderAll". Everything is fine, expect that we get quite large gaps between the bottom of the video and the top of the controls - its really quite large on some examples. When we use Adobe Media Encoder to encode to flv there doesn't appear to be any gap.

You can see the offending videos here http://www.en2krew.com/tutorialsmain.html

Can anybody suggest where the gaps are coming from and how to get rid of them

    Thanks

    E

The gaps are coming from selecting an incorrect aspect ratio / frame pixel dimensions when creating and rendering the original video. It has NOTHING to do with the Flash video player or the skin used for it... the black band (both top AND bottom) is in the .flv itself.
The metadata for the file shows 395 width and 316 height. This is not a 4:3 aspect ratio so black banding appears at top and bottom. See attached image of frame shot.
Original video should have been rendered at 400 x 300 to give exact 4:3 aspect ratio and no black bands top and bottom.
    Best wishes,

Hi - been thinking about your reply :
The metadata for the file shows 395 width and 316 height
When I used firebug it tells me the whole swf is 395 width by 355 height, which includes the controls along the bottom. Where did you get the figures you quoted from?
    Thanks again.
