Any iPhone games made with Flash since the dust settled?
It's been a while since the dust settled and Flash was allowed back into the ring, however I'm having a hard time finding anything that wasn't made during the CS5 beta. (There was so much complaining, you'd think I would find at least a couple).
Can anyone point me to some games made with CS5 on the AppStore please?

Some I found Googling:
Totomi: Doesn't show up in Canadian AppStore
Zap: Doesn't show up in Canadian AppStore
Monster Ball: Shows up in AppStore but the author hasn't renewed his developer license, so the game won't install
Cockroach stepping game: Too old. Dates back to CS5 Beta days

SupAIR Pong, made with AIR 2.6.
It's just pong. Frame rate is crappy considering how little is going on on the screen.
Anyone tried AIR 2.7? It's being touted as "4x faster on iOS"

Hype over content...
Ha, Zap is mine. It doesn't show up in any store as I let my Apple dev membership lapse, so they pull the game ( I wonder how many people know that going in to iOS development ? )
Anyway here's the closet you'll get to seeing it,

Done with the beta. I quickly played with Air2.7 and porting DN8 to Android, even though the performance is good, I quickly lost heart.
There's no money in mobile development unless you're doing it for a client, anything else is just a vanity project.

Hey Squize, is Zap the only thing you have made for the iPhone?
Apple want a slice of every profit you make. Developer fee is over the top and their commission on your sales is way to high too.
For every 10 success story's there is 10 million failures. People finding your game is like a needle in a hay stack.

Damn you Ray and your game knowledge
It's actually the 2nd time I've "Paid homage" to that game. I like to think of it as bringing yesterdays gaming experience to todays mobile gamers
hooligan yeah, only thing I did. Took around 3 weeks, earned next to nothing ( Well literally nothing, as I'm below the payment threshold, then factor in the $99 dev fee thing and buying an iPod touch I didn't really want, and it was quite a net loss ).
What really opened my eyes was this page,
http://toucharcade.com/newest-iphone-games/
There are about the same number of new iPhone games as games posted to NG every day. There's no way to compete against that without an insane amount of effort.

Some say that ad-supported is the way to go.

Dance Monkey Dance!
Damn, I knew there were a lot of games being released but common!

Ray, how much have you made from mochi / cpm* ? That's on Flash games that are available to nearly everyone who is online, not just one appStore for one device.
iAd rates are meant to be good, but I doubt they'll be in a Flash game any time soon, which leaves adMob, which is meant to have a poor eCPM.
If you have a hit, you're laughing, if you don't you're just throwing money away. Obvious but true I'm afraid.

Yes we can
Yeah, ads haven´t helped the flash games industry at all. The contrary, they have lead to thousands upon thousands of games available free to play while the average game developer who either gets low sponsoring money and/or small advertising money returns can usually be happy about the returns only while he doesn´t have to pay high monthly living cost bills in a western country.
This all has gone to the degree where nowadays usually flash online games mostly only make big money if:
-You run a game portal with many (ideally great and exclusive) games
-You have many games of your own and halfway a control over where and how they are used
-You have micro transactions or subscription systems for your game.
Porting the system of "ad financed" over to mobile space doesn´t make it better.

Ow really, I don't know that. Do you think steam is a good medium? I don't use it much but I heard some success stories from it as you do with everything.

I can't imagine many people would be willing to pay for a flash game through Steam though...

Even if it was $0.99 and you couldn't tell it was Flash?
Did you know Flash is used for creating the user interfaces and HUDs in a lot of AAA console & PC games now? You don't hear people go "ew, that HUD is made with Flash!"
Check out Batman Arkham Asylum for a great example.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, and I see your point. I suppose it could be done.
I guess when I say "flash game", I really mean "a small, short, 2D game possessing quality and depth on par with an above-average free flash game". I think you'd need a much higher quality, in-depth game than even most great flash games for it to be unidentifiable as a flash game.
I'm also not sure I've seen any $0.99 games on steam (except maybe through sales)... though I'll admit I don't use steam very much. How would the game be packaged? AIR executable? That'd give it away, and sadly more and more people seem to be jumping on the flash-hate bandwagon, even when it's completely unjustified.

far as I know, it must be packaged as an exe through steam. Flash can do this for you in the file menu of the player. "Create Projector"
