    What exactly is bbs?

    When www. is replaced with bbs., what exactly is that?

    Bulletin board system? It can’t be anything official, just whatever the server admin feels like.

    Thanks. Some chinese group from Canada forwarded a url to my website, which starts with bbs. . My own domain name is masked. I redirected the url to a dummy site using javascript. So i am wondering what is exactly going on there. I found some forums where they are trading sites.
