Write a text file from Flash 6 Projector?

Hi, hope someone can help.

I have exported an exe projector and I want it to output one of the variables in the script to a text file located in the same directory as the projector when the user clicks a button.

I've read various posts on this and there seem to be different opinions and methods depending on the version of flash but can't seem to get it to write to the text file even though people say you can if it's a local text file and non-web based.

It's a flash 6 projector.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

You can't rewrite, change, edit or alter an independent file from Flash, without the aid of PHP or other server side scripting, which again won't work locally!
