publishing files stupid question

Hi I made a simple button and its saved as a swf and html. I can open it in my browser window (open file) but when I try to paste the link in my blog it doesn't work. what's the correct way to share my button?

You can't share something that is in YOUR desktop, lol, you have to upload it online. Upload it to your blog, and I'm sure it has an upload feature. Then, copy and paste that link to your blog

Yea the upload feature is to paste in a URL, which I copied from my browser window..... If I opened it in a safari window, it's uploaded right? Thanks for the reply!

What does the Upload Feature say, or if you can please send a post a screenshot of the Upload Feature (go to the window with Upload Feature, press Print Screen button, open Paint, press CTRL+V to paste the screenshot, and save that on your computer, upload the picture on a site like TinyPic and post the link to the image here)

Sorry, didn't you know you were using Mac :P

It says to insert a Link, and a link is referred to something online, which is on the internet, and can be accessed from anywhere, whereas the link you have, only refers to the link in your OWN computer, meaning that it's not online, and only YOU can view at from your computer. When you paste it in Safari, it shows because that file exists in your computer, but if anyone else would do it, it wouldn't show anything. If you want to show it, you'll need to upload it on the internet, and then copy that LINK. I cannot open the link you sent of your computer, on the second post, but I can see the image you posted on TinyPic, because you uploaded it on that site's server, and it can now be viewed by anyone with the link, because it's online!

To make your link work, upload it on TinyPic, and then look at the left-side, where is says, Grab Your Code, and then copy the link in where it says, Direct Link for Layouts, and paste it to the tumblr's Add Link

so i tried that, but there was an error on tinypic, imageshack and photobucket. Is it because its an interactive file not a still image?

it was, but now its a button (movie clip symbol) so its a swf, html file. its interactive...

it's a .SWF file? Then use a site like MegaSWF to upload your SWF file (press Upload File, choose the file to upload, give it a title, and press Upload button. Click on View, next to the link, and then click on the link, labeled, Play flash full screen) and copy and paste its link to the tumblr's add link feature!
