"Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous."- T. McKenna
Been a busy summer here in upstate NY. Spending lots of time with the kids, which is fabulous, coaching my son's t-ball and soccer teams and splitting my non-kid time between skydiving, climbing, kayaking, kite surfing, volleyball and avoiding home improvements.
Here's a shot I took last weekend:
Yesterday I found out that I'm getting laid off at the end of next week...crappers!! I guess it's time for a change, just hope I don't have to wait too long for the next job. Have a few different opportunities already, but nothing solid yet...
Just trying to not stress about it. Have to see it as an opportunity, not a setback.
lol...should probably get around to that sometime, but Nats made it for me so it's my little tribute to her.
Maybe once I'm not working anymore I'll come up with something else
Lefteye,
I play on Mondays down in a Honeoye Falls league (only $15/year, so much cheaper than HotShots). Might be playing in Sept. on Wed. nights at HotShots, but we'll see how the job hunt goes.
Still gotta hook up for a drink sometime.
After years of Flash I've had to dive into HTML and have done a couple of sites plus a couple of Flash sites the customer wanted redone to show on iPhone, which brought in some welcome cash.
Having great fun with 6 grandchildren from 1 year old to 14.
Playing guitar a lot again after a few years away - played a great local festival on Saturday in tropical weather. Bought a new Takamine guitar a few months back (after 44 years with the same old Hoyer) which sounds great amplified, so good that my guitar partner bought one too. Plenty of gigs lined up too.
For about 40 years I got by with micing the guitar but hated being stuck in one spot (though I'm way past doing the duck walk). I had an under the bridge pick-up fitted but it just didn't sound as good as the unamped guitar. The Takamine I bought (EG50th anniversary model) sounds as good amped as acoustic, and I find I can use a gauge lighter strings as I don't need to hit it as hard, which makes finger style a touch easier too.
