I have a movie clip in one fla file and would like to use that clip as the basis for a new flash movie. How do I do this? It looks like I can only import the library and the clip remains a clip.

Select all the frames in all the layers of your movie clip, then go to Edit/Copy Frames. Then go to your new Flash movie, and create the appropriate number of layers, then go to Edit/Paste Frames.

I have not actually tried that myself.. but it should work.

    Cool

I do it all the time and it works great. The only problem that you will run into is if you import the frames into a exsisting file some of your objects, symbols, and movie clips may have the same name and there for will not import into the movie. Regards,Bill

In the beginning the web was without shape and color, and the hype covered the darkness of the net. Then there was a Flash and life came to the web and vision became reality.
