_width property bug??

Ok, it's best to explain with an image;

is this a bug?

whenever I assign _width to a clip that is rotated at any angle near to 90 degrees, or 270 degrees, the width of the clip becomes extremely large (and yet, when I trace the _width propery of that clip, it says it's fine).

What's going on? How do I avoid this? I'm trying to connect clips together as in a strand, but whenever it gets near to those angles, it completely messes up.

maybe you should try converting the lines to shapes and going from there...... it is just a suggestion, i dont know if it will make a difference
