    We now have our second front host and third machine online, all machines are very beefy and contain a gigabyte of RAM each dual processors and all the trimmings etc. We have some serious backend work to redistribute the load as we did not initially design the site for round robin DNS and hardware load balancing in not an option at the moment. Remember FK sometimes serves over 100 Gig of data a day and this puts substantial pressure on the servers.

    We can only have a maximum of 560 httpd processes open at any one time, any more and the available grunt per thread is not up to job.

    Also load figures over 15 means the site is highly stressed - poor FK

    it's running alot smoother. not exactly sure what you guys did but whatever it is keep doing it.

    hey scills, I was looking at these charts..
    so what exactly would consitute outgoing traffic?
    and why isn't there any?
    just curious.

    and these changes are very impressive, btw!

    Not sure how accurate those figures are, we just use it for server load and httpd processes.
