I am trying to import a 3DS file into Swift from Carrara (Macintosh - PC Emulation).
The file isn't being recognised. Are there any problems with 3DS files?

Hi Mark!
I've only had a few problems importing .3DS files. Early problems have been fixed by E-rain in the current build (available from the customer site). You might try the latest version. No difficulty with the file type not being recognized.
My only outstanding problem is importing a .3DS file of a Martian surface I created in MAX.
I've imported models of up to 300K polygons - just to find out where the edge of the envelope is - the most intense of which was an animation of a DNA model, 3-turn double helix.
Overall, I'd give Swift3D pretty high marks. Have you tested to see whether the emulator is causing the problem? Can you import the .3DS file into another 3D package on the PC?
If you don't have access to a 3D program on the PC, send me your .3DS file and I will see if it imports into MAX.
Good luck to you!
