    Hiya!

Thanks for the suggestion! However, this wouldn't work for FK for the following reason:

FlashKit's main pulling point is this fabulous community board. If we were to mirror the site then we'd have some posts on one mirror, some posts on another and yet more on another. People would need to go from site to site to view the board in it's entirity - leading to the same amount of load delivery on EACH SERVER as is currently on FK's one server.

The truth is that FK already have a server dedicated to the FK community section and that this isn't enough to satisfy current demand. What FK really needs is to devise a sound revenue model to justify the investment in new hardware. This is exactly what the FK Team are spending their time on at the moment.

    Thanks and regards,

    Steve

Why do I get this feeling that FlashKit will soon be subscriptionized? =/

To be honest I don't think that will EVER happen! AFAIK the only sites that have made a success of the pay-for-content model are adult content sites. One of the main drawings of FK is that it's FREE!

Mark and the team are looking for viable revenue models through things like merchandise sales, donations etc, book/software sales...etc...etc. Once they've got that then internet.com will back them up with some spanky new hardware for the site!

Until that point please bare with us.

    Regards,

    Steve
