Thread: assigning transparency to the background of a symbol

    I read on the site http://www.phong.com that there is a way to import files in the .png format that retain there transparency inside of Flash. It's kinda complicated and I think it requires access to Photoshop 5.5+, but if you are feeling adventurous, go to the site, click on "Tutorials" and then on the left there should be two choices under "Macromedia Flash", click on the one called "Transparency" or something.

    FOlks -

    I have a logo in .jpg, .gif, etc that I show on the stage. Problem is the stage is black and the logo symbol file has a white background. Is there anyway I can assign the background of the logo to show as transparent.

    Solutions solicited!!

    You are looking to make the gif transparent once it is in Flash? That's impossible.

    Fix the image and get it exactly the way that you want it before you import it into flash.
