You mean you want the main button to stay in the "over" state when you move to an item in the submenu?

For it to stay in the over state you can not use a button. You have to make a movieclip that acta like one. For instance make a movieclip with two frames. Put a button in each frame ( second one will be the over state. And make the action on the first frame go to the second when mouse overed. ( Also make a stop action in the first frame so the movieclip does not play by itself ).

You can put your button in a movie clip...and use it like the attachment.
