    AS problems - please help.

    Hello all,

I've decided to try a complete website in flash, but I'm stumbling. I'm trying to complete the nav menu section and its actions all in AS. The idea is when the flash loads, a menu comes sliding in from right to left. So far so good. On that menu is a button, and the action on the button should make the same menu slide out - left to right, and another menu slide in - right to left - using the same function that the first menu came sliding in on. All the AS is contained on one KF, and I'd like to keep it that way if I can.

The menu initially slides in good, but when I click the button, I don't get a full slide. I have to keep clicking the button 100 times or so to finish the sliding sequence. Attached is my .fla so far. I have some stupid math in there that changes the velocity of the menu movement, but its not done, nor is it good, and not really worried about that right now. I also have all kinds of traces going as well. I'm just trying to have objects reuse functions, and learn how to have lets say button actions affect multiple objects/movie clips, or whatever using straight AS.

If you could take a look and give me some pointers on what I'm doing wrong, I'd greatly apprieciate it. I'm getting totally frustrated, and I'm almost ready to drop the whole project. I've been through kirupa.com up and down, but nothing is helping me in the beginning stages.

    thanks!

Youd need to upgrade your software. I've saved it as an MX file - you should be able to open this.
