Quicktime player in Flash 8
Are there ANY solutions out there that let me display Quicktime videos instead of the FLV format? The reason why I'm asking is because my client wishes to just drop movs into the site and have them play automatically, not only that but he is going to scrap the entire Flash part that I coded he doesn't get a "frame by frame" movement option. In Quicktime you can move between frames easily but with the FLVplayback component I haven't been able to accomplish this at all. The most I can do is a section by second movement.
I'd have to agree with him though, for his particular requirement the feature is necessary so I really.
So my question is: is there a way to create an mov player in Flash? or is there ANY way I can let the user search frame by frame through a video...
At this point I'm desparate any help I'd give free hugs for (brotherly/sisterly hugs )

I saw a coding tutorial somewhere in all my AS searching, that shows you how to create a linking button that takes a "snapshot" as a bitmap at any point in a video that is playing, then displays it in a seperate window. I'm not a flash expert, or even much of a beginner, but perhaps something like that would work for you?? I'm not even sure where I ran across it. Seems like it was a video of a guy with bloodied fingertips used as an example. Maybe someone else reading this would know where that site is. I know this isn't answering your original question, but perhaps an alternative if you can find it. If I happen to run across it again, I will post a link here.

That would be most appreciated, and if there is ANYONE out there who can help please...I'm on my knees begging you. haha

I believe the tutorial you are referring to is the bitmap data class tute at http://www.gotoandlearn.com/. Hope that helps!
Also, at that same url is a different tute on how to encode the flv so you can go second-by-second in the video if you want, or any other rate... the very best thing to do on that site is to take all the video tutes (I believe there are 8 or 9)
