3DMax has the Flash 3D market cornered but is there any hope for us Maya users? I want to publish some 3D animations in Flash but have not found any reasonable method for us. I want to hear what other
maya users are doing. Animo will supposedly have a plug-in for us later this year but I would like to hear of some solutions now! Email me or post your solutions, lets hear what you smart Maya users have figured out!

I can't really offer any quickie advice in 3D other than study your favorite 3D animations repeatedly and then pick which application you want to use and do the tutorials faithfully. There are many publishers who offer great books for new users to many different 3D applications. Maya offers The Art of Maya for example. (www.aw.sgi.com)

You may want to follow 3D user sites and newsgroups. They offer some really good 3D advice and tutorials just as Flashkit does for Flashers. Try http://www.highend3D.com or http://www.the-gnomon-workshop.com/title.shtml to get started.

there is another way to export your maya models in flash, that is amorphium pro. it doesn't import the entire motion/animation file, but it will import maya models and you can animate them there. it also has some goods stuff by way of swf options...like shadows and cartoon.

be careful when you import though. it brings in imported models small so you just scale to whatever size you want once it's in amorphium's composer area.

I checked out the Amorphium site- http://www.amorphium.com and it looks like a really good solution. I downloaded their trial and I will enjoy trying it out. Its too bad that there is only a 24 hour limit to using Amorphium. How much does the full version cost (PC)? How long have you been using the program?
