    Multiuser whiteboard

Has anyone seen or done anything like a multiuser whiteboard that many users can log in and chat.

There will be also a whiteboard that people can draw or illustrate anything on it that other people in the chat room will be able to see it.

Any example or link to this are appreciated.

Do you think this can be achieved by doing just PHP polling with MySQL even though it might be a little slow?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply, hooligan

Have you seen anything in Flash?

My question, really, is 'is it feasible?'

rubira, somehow I can't access to your website, I will try it again later when I get home.

BlinkOk, that's a very nice chat application.

By the way, do you know where I can find the "sample of the whiteboard" like stated in that post in flash.

    Thanks

the whiteboard is not mine but you could PM the guys who did it. ultimate and RUSHVision both of them are members here but it might be better to PM them over at the erain board. i'd also check the movies and tutorials here, i'm sure someone's done something on chat/whiteboard stuff.

Your chat client looks great rubira.

Is the Flash Communication Server easier to learn and implement?

How would you go about installing it on your computer...?

    Thanks

    Drakz,

The Flash Communication Server (Flashcomm) is very easy to implement. His coming with pre-built components to add streaming video, live chat, meeting rooms, instant messaging and more.

Use the Macromedia Flash MX as authoring environment, using standards-based ActionScript.

You can download a free trial in Macromedia website.

You find more about Flashcomm here

    hope this help

    Hi Drakz!

Answering the question you left in my whiteboard, you can setup your Flashcomm with your WinXP.

you dont need change your web server. it can be the Apache, the IIS
    (like mine) or anything else.

Try to download the trial version of Flashcomm. Is very easy to implement. Really. He comes with a lot of examples that you can see it in action.

For exemple: to implement a chat, like you saw in my whiteboard, you dont need to write any line of actionscript. you can use the pre-built components of Flashcomm.

In the Whiteboard as a whole, i only wrote the actionscript lines for the whiteboard that you draw on and for the pen.
