Had the best pizza ever.
So last night the lady friend and I were bored and were looking for things to do and a place to eat so we head up to Ludlow, VT which is where Okemo Ski Resort is. So the town is very ski orientated. My room mate lives around there so he was working at the video store and we stopped in to see him and aksed for a place to eat. He suggested a few fancy places but we weren't in the mood for that kinda place. We ended up at a place called "American Pie" and it is a brick/wood oven cooked pizza place. At first I was kinda put off by the price but we decided to try it out. She got a plain cheese with their homemade saice, and I got what they called the "Outlaw" which consist of: Barbecue sauce, grilled chicken, onions, and bacon, AMAZING! My pizza was so good and was cooked to perfection. I am all about weird combinations of foods and everything so I already thought I would love it, but not this much. The final product comes from a lot of time and experimenting. They had a mounted article from the local paper explaining the business. It is all homemade dough, sauce, etc, and you can tell. The oven bricked cooking was also awesome, I love thin crunchy crust and this was that and beyond.
The mood was also awesome. We were the only ones there sitting and eating. And we were sitting at retrofitted sky lift chairs and where you order/the pizza are made is an old VW bus all redone up. The owner/only guy working was also very nice he talked to us and asked where we were from etc.
Anyone else find a new favorite food/place to eat?

Gino's East in downtown Chicago is hard to beat if you like a good deep dish (which I do). Aurelio's (also based around Chicago - S. suburbs) is a pretty good thin crust pie.
Great place in Indy for gourmet thin & crispy is Bazbeaux. Everything from traditional to bbq, Mexican and even a seafood pizza that's surprisingly good.

We just moved into a new area and are trying the Chinese, Indian, pizza shops out.
So far, unfortunately, they've all been pretty much an adventure in mediocrity.
But I live in hope.

Talk to the locals. That is what I always do on vacation when looking for good little shops/places to eat.

Let me just say that entire State of NJ and City of NY are not impressed with your pizza story. In fact, being that a wood burning stove pizza is a novelty item where you are, we've extended our list of reasons to mock your meat and potatoes cuisine.

That BBQ sauce pizza sounds good. I think I might need to get some dough started for pizza tonight.

You had a three-way with some girls from Ipanema and figured they were skanks?
Don't know what that's got to do with asking locals about anything, but good story none the less.

There's a place I've been meeting friends once a week called the Black Mountain Grill.
The center of the place is a typical bar but some of the dining areas are set up like your living room might be. One has a big screen, coffee table and TV trays. It's like having a waitress at home. Oh and their bbq chicken pizza is BOMB!

"American Pie"
What a twice rip.
I worked for "America's Pizza Cafe" was a general manager for one of the stores
We had 5 units and expanding till the parent company got bored with us.
We ripped most of our ideas from CPK http://www.cpk.com/
At our zenith we had 35 different specialty pizza's with 25 different sauces.
27 different pasta's based on 15 different sauces.

No, I don't watch too many episodes with her. I usually watch Upwrapped, $40 A Day, 30 Minute Meals, the Food Network Challenges, Alton Brown's Good Eats, and Emeril if he's making something good.
